Connect with nature and yourself with seasonal, nature-centric crafts and well-being workshops

Workshops 2026

Our members run a variety of crafts and well-being workshops for adults, throughout the year. 

Their purpose is to nurture the well-being of people in the Forest of Dean, through mindful connection with the natural world, creativity, community and spirituality.

Beltane Willow Workshop

Connect with nature in our beautiful ancient woodland, Hazel Woods, near Mitcheldean.

Weave with nature, craft, meditation and mindfulness. Learn to weave a seasonal willow wreath with specially prepared and foraged materials. Tutor Becky Gunton has taught willow weaving & basketry for over 30 years.

Workshop Date

Sunday 26th April 2026 - 10am -1pm

​

Workshop Description
Celebrate Beltane, the peak of Spring, by weaving a seasonal willow wreath while learning the history, folklore, symbolism and significance of materials that can be woven into it i.e. bay leaves symbolising protection and wisdom, dandelion for resilience & hope. You can also add colourful ribbon, jute and wool and learn the chakras and emotions the colours represent.
Includes a guided fireside meditation and poem.

The workshop will be fully outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Refreshments included.

Timing

10 mins - Arrive and intro, housekeeping, overview of the workshop 

10 mins - Grounding meditation & setting intentions

20mins - Willow hoop demo & weaving 

30 mins - Woodland walk & foraging

10 mins - drink & snack
Poem & chakras emotions

1 1/2 hour - Demo of weaving the foliage and making wreath. Participants make their own wreath

10 min - closing meditation
