A photo of Forest School Leader Susie in the woods

Susie is a qualified Forest School Leader and has a background teaching English as a Second Language.

She spent over a decade as a business owner in the USA, and has worked with various charities in Africa. She also taught English both in the UK and overseas.

After coming ‘home’, to the UK, Susie now leads a tranquil life in the Forest of Dean where she likes to immerse herself amongst the trees and practice mindfulness, which brings a deep sense of peace and belonging.

Susie is passionate about inspiring children to develop and nurture a love for the natural world that will linger into adulthood and be passed onto future generations.

Through teaching permaculture gardening in primary schools, and working closely with neurodiverse children within the Home Education community, Susie has developed a unique approach to facilitating learning that blends mindfulness with nature immersion.

Susie holds a MSc Sustainability, BA Geography and Environmental Studies and a TEFL certification. She is an avid reader and likes to delve into the realm of ecopsychology alongside nature books.

Susie is happiest when she is playing in the dirt, listening to the wind through the trees or sharing her passion and awe of the beautiful natural world in which we live.
